September 21, 2013: Western Serves
  • Participating in Western University's campus-wide program to address various social, economic, environmental, and health issues. Students will have an opportunity to learn and volunteer with Western Heads East.
September 23 - September 27, 2013: Volunteers Week
  • Volunteers Week is held annually to give students opportunities to enhance their learning and civic responsibility through local charities
September 30, 2013: First General Meeting
  • Time: 5pm
  • Venue: Dr. David S. Chu International Student Centre
  • Opportunity for students to learn more about getting involved with Western Heads East
October 1, 2013: International Opportunities Fair
  • Time: 9:30am to 3:30 pm
  • Venue: The Great Hall
  • The International Opportunities Fair is held in response to our students' increasing interest in studying, travelling, working, and volunteering abroad. WHE will have the opportunity to display the countries where the program operates in Africa, and to speak with students about internships and getting involved on campus.
October 15, 2013: Trivia Night
  • Doors open at 8pm
  • Venue: The Grad Club
  • A display outside the Grad Club, along with some WHE themed trivia questions
  • Bracelet, batik and raffles sales
November 12 - November 14, 2013: International Week/WHE AIDS Awareness Week
  • Venue: UCC Atrium, Chu Centre
  • International Week is a new campus-wide initiative that is held to develop ethno-cultural awareness within the Western community. Events during this week will include an International Learning Fair, keynote speaker, poster sessions and various workshops.
  • Booth and activities in the residences and at the UCC Atrium
  • Bracelet, condoms, pins sales
  • Promote upcoming events; invite student involvement
November 14, 2013: Spotlight on WHE
  • Time: 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm
  • Western Heads East interns proudly show displays and pictures in brief presentations (poster programs) showing what they set out to do and what they accomplished. Students are introduced by their faculty advisors.
December 1, 2013: World AIDS Day
  • Check out the UCC for some music and free food! More details to come.
January 6 - January 10, 2014: Frost Week
  • Opportunity for first year students to learn about WHE through residence-oriented campaigns
February 11, 2014: Trivia Night

March 19, 2014: Art in the Market
  • Time: 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm
  • Venue: The Great Hall
  • African art and art by local artists will be auctioned with proceeds going towards WHE
  • Smaller items (possibly bracelets) will be sold throughout showcase
