September 17 - September 18 2014: Volunteers Week
  • Volunteers Week is held annually to give students opportunities to enhance their learning and civic responsibility through local charities.
September 22, 2014: Western Serves
  • Participating in Western University's campus-wide program to address various social, economic, environmental, and health issues. Students will have an opportunity to learn and volunteer with Western Heads East.
September 30, 2014: First General Meeting
  • Time: 5pm
  • Venue: International and Graduate Affairs Building Rm N105
  • Opportunity for students to learn more about getting involved with Western Heads East
October 14, 2014: Trivia Night
  • Time: 8:30 pm
  • Venue: The Great Hall
  • A display outside the Grad Club, along with WHE specific questions incorporated into the Trivia (3 per round; 3 rounds)
  • Bracelet, batik, and raffle sales
  • Prize donation (batik, fair trade coffee, etc.) for trivia winners
October 15, 2013: Trivia Night
  • Doors open at 8pm
  • Venue: The Grad Club
  • A display outside the Grad Club, along with some WHE themed trivia questions
  • Bracelet, batik and raffles sales
Third week of October: Annual General Meeting, Wine and Cheese, Networking event and Info session
  • Opportunity for students and staff to learn more about getting involved with Western Heads East
  • Intern posters

November 10 - November 14, 2014: International / Western-Africa Collaboration Day
  • Venue: Displays in residences, UCC Atrium, Mustang Lounge, McKellar Room, International and Graduate Affairs Building atrium
  • International week is a new campus-wide initiative that is held to develop ethno-cultural awareness within the Western community. Events during this week will include an International Learning Fair, keynote speaker, poster sessions and various workshops.
  • Booth and activities in the residences and at the UCC Atrium (Maternal health and nutrition issues)
  • Collaboration with London Middlesex Health Unit on maternal health
  • Bracelet and pin sales
  • Promote upcoming events; invite student involvement
  • SPOTLIGHT ON WHE
  • Western Heads East interns showcase their displays and pictures through brief presentations (poster programs) showing what they set out to do and what they accomplished.
December 1, 2014: World AIDS Day
  • Check out the UCC for some music and free food! More details to come
February 10, 2014: Trivia Night
  • Time: 8:00 pm
  • Venue: Grad Club
  • A display outside the Grad Club, along with WHE specific questions incorporated into the Trivia (3 per round; 3 rounds)

January - March, 2014: In the Market for Western Heads East
  • Monthly online silent auctions and program promotions.
  • During the first week of each month, auction items promoted from Monday to Friday with auction closing on Friday.
 
Partnering with Africa for health and sustainable development through probiotics.
