Student Engagement

Western Heads East (WHE) commits itself to being Western's Community Response to the HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa.

A highlight of this program is the ability to actively engage students with individuals and communities "on the ground" by facilitating essential program goals and providing valuable research opportunities.

The WHE-Internship Program is a challenging, dynamic, competitive, multidisciplinary and international learning opportunity.

Interns will have the opportunity to:

  • Teach sustainable business skills
  • Collaborate on new kitchen & laboratory facilities
  • Promote awareness to Western University's community about the HIV/AIDS crisis
  • Receive a course credit

If you're interested in applying for the internship, WHE is seeking individuals for the year ahead.

Please send all inquiries and completed applications to the Project Director, Bob Gough at You may also arrange for a meeting to learn more about how your goals may fit with those of the Western Heads East project.
