Mission Statement
To engage staff, students, faculty and the broader community in teaching, research and service targeting the African HIV/AIDS crisis. This will raise awareness and funds to support the exchange of learning experiences, while making a sustainable difference to communities in Africa.
WHE Updates
Rani Suleman, a student at the Richard Ivey School of Business, was recently awarded Ontario's Youth Acting Up Award from the Ontario Council for International Cooperation, thanks to the support of her Professor David Sharp and everyone at the Western Heads East program.
OCIC is celebrating International Development Week by recognizing the work of inspirational young people who are acting up for OCIC is celebrating International Development Week by recognizing the work of inspirational young people who are acting up for global change. Amidst the text books, school clubs, friends and family commitments, exceptional young people across Ontario and around the world are making global social justice one of their everyday priorities. They may be addressing global poverty, helping to make education or health care more accessible, or trying to better our world in another way.
The OCIC published Rani's bio and a video they shot of her on their web site,CIDA's and posted a youtube link to raise awareness of the efforts of youth in the global arena. The recipient with the most views also gets a $100 donation from OCIC to put towards an NGO of their choice; so let's raise awareness about WHE's initiatives!!
